Columbus, Ohio – April 20, 2009 – DataWerks Limited is formally announcing the addition of two new products to its “Werks” line of database products. TestingWerksTM, a testing data warehouse for K-12 schools and GiftedWerksTM, a Gifted Education management system also for K-12 schools have been developed and launched this past year and are now commercially available to all education markets.

TestingWerks, a testing data warehouse for K-12 education, was formally launched to two pilot schools in Ohio in the fall of 2008. TestingWerks allows districts to centralize all of their benchmark and intervention based tests in one location for analysis with regards to student and class improvement. TestingWerks can house state test scores, nationally standardized tests for achievement and cognition, benchmark tests from national providers, computer-based tests scores, progress monitoring tools, interventions, and most importantly locally-generated common assessments. “By localizing all of these scores in one place, teachers and administrators can drill down to individual tests for individual students in order to make more informed decisions about the academic progress of students across a wide range of data sets,” says Mr. Stark. TestingWerks is a district-hosted application that includes a web interface for teachers to access from anywhere. A more complete client version is available to administrators for complex reports, system management, and cohort management.
GiftedWerks, a Gifted Education management system, has been available to schools for several years and was marketed separately by Gene Rust of Gene Rust Associates and was recently integrated into the DataWerks product line. “We are excited to bring Mr. Rust and his product into our organization through a newly formed partnership between our two companies,” says Stark. “Gene already has a mature product, and having been a former Gifted Coordinator, brings the subject expertise that has allowed his product to evolve over the past four years. With our assistance we have been able to drive the product in new technical directions as well as link it to our TestingWerks product so that districts could obtain both programs and work from the same student and testing data set.”
From within GiftedWerks, Gifted Coordinators, Gifted Intervention Specialists, and Building Administrators can manage and monitor the students that are identified and not identified as Gifted. They can monitor services they provide, referrals that occur for students, all the Gifted testing done either on the individual or group level, and send mass mailings to parents documenting individual student status within the district’s Gifted program.
With the launch of these new data solutions, DataWerks Limited has also upgraded and revised its website to feature these and future product offerings. “Every couple of years, organizations have to give their image a quick refresh. With these new products we needed to alter our website so that visitors could easily find the information on our various products easily,” states Stark. “We look forward to growing our company and expanding our product line over time as we continue to focus on data management solutions for the K-12, government, and non-profit sectors.”
Pricing and Availability
All DataWerks Limited products are sold as solutions for organizations to own outright. All of our products include at least one year of support, upgrades, and software maintenance in the purchase price. System configuration, installation, data migration, and training is sold as a separate one-time fee. TestingWerks 1.5 is readily available and its price is based on a sliding scale based on student population. TestingWerks starts at $2500 per year for two years for districts with 1000 or fewer students. GiftedWerks v7 is readily available and is also based on the student population and starts at $2000 for 2000 students. Each package may include a limited number of corresponding seat licenses which include copies of FileMaker® Pro Desktop software. TestingWerks and GiftedWerks requires the use of FileMaker® Server software installed on-sight or hosted through DataWerks Limited.
